Comments:    I joined the Marine Corps in 1964. After Basic Training, I went to Naval Air Station Memphis Tn. for training as a jet mechanic. After that training, I was stationed at NAS Dallas Tx. as a mechanic for the remainder of my enlistment. After my discharge, I returned to Charlotte briefly. I moved to Richmond, Va and worked there for about a half year. Next I returned to Dallas and began work at Vought Corp. (manufacturer of the aircraft I had maintained in the Marines). I also served a couple more years in the Marine Corps Reserve there. While working there, I was sent to China Lake Naval Weapons Center on a temporary assignment to maintain Drone aircraft. Long story short, this temporary job ended up lasting nearly twenty years including four years at Naval Missle Center Pt Mugu, Ca and involved working for several different companies as Navy contracts changed over the years. It was while working there (for Northrop) that I met Candi and we married in 1986 and I gained not only a wife, but three teenagers. At long last, the contract ended and we moved to Tucson, Az in 1991 and worked for Lear Jet as a mechanic and inspector until retiring in May of 2007.
Candi's sister and her family have been living on Orcas Island, Wa for nearly twenty years and we had been up here often on short vacations. After my retirement, we decided to get out of the "rat race" and retired up here. Needless to say, the weather here is much different from the many years of Calif. and Ariz. desert.
Both of us are looking forward to getting back to N. C. for the reunion and a short vacation there.

School Story:    During my my school years, I lived on Randolph St. (later renamed Fern Ave) in Glenwood. In high school I drove a '40 Ford coupe, now 50 years later I've upgraded to a '51 Ford. Still a car nut.

Military Service:    USMC
